PP Russ M. Miller, LLIF
Russ was first introduced to world of Rotary by the Rotary Club of Hastings, NE, U.S.A. This introduction to Rotary lead him through two Rotary clubs in Sioux Falls, SD., U.S.A., the Rotary Club of Grand Rapids East, Grand Rapids, MI, U.S.A., two Rotary clubs in Jakarta, Indonesia, the Rotary Club of Hong Kong and finally the Rotary Club of Beijing, China. Russ has served on the board of directors in four different Rotary clubs, is a past-president of the Rotary Club of Beijing, and currently serves as a member of the Rotary International China Team.
In his professional life, Russ retired from the Principal Financial Group, Des Moines, IA, U.S.A. In 2001, after a 30+ year career in business covering Asia and North America. Upon retiring from his corporate career, Russ entered his second professional career as an independent advisor/consultant in business and leadership development, where he works with senior management and boards of directors whose companies and organizations are involved in business development in Africa, Asia, Europe and
North America. Russ serves as Chief Executive Advisor to Jpigroup, Inc. and Managing Director of JPI Ventures, Beijing, China; Chief Advisor and member of the board of directors for the Jiangsu Transportation Research Institute, Inc., Nanjing, China; member of the board of directors of the One China Committee of North America, Chicago, IL, U.S.A.; and member of the board of directors of Miller Family Enterprises, Inc., Holland, MI., U.S.A.
During his 16 years living and working in Asia, Russ has been an active participant in many commercial and government projects. He is active with the World Economic Forum Asia Business Summits, the American, Australia, European Union and Swiss Chambers of Commerce; Employee Benefits Forum (China); Human Resources Forum (China); the Insurance Forum (China), the Global Society for Human Resources Management; and the Society for Financial Service Professionals. Russ is an active speaker at many business and industry conferences and is a sought after guest lecturer by universities in Asia and the U.S.A.
Russ attended the Nebraska Community College, in Hastings, NE, U.S.A. He received his CLU from the American College, Bryn Mawr, PA, U.S.A. and is a Fellow of the LIMRA Leadership Institute, Babson College, Wellesley, MA, U.S.A.
Russ is married to Chanda A. Miller. They have one son Shawn, married to Amy and two granddaughters, Chanda R. and Cassie. When in the United States, Russ calls calls Holland, MI, home.
